Taft has become widely known as a thought leader in the alternative risk transfer industry. Dick Goff and Allen Taft have both served as presidents or chairmen of leading industry associations including the Self-Insurance Institute of America, Inc. (SIIA) and various domicile captive associations.

Taft views education as a primary mission of the firm, both for its own personnel and for the broader professional and business communities.
